JEZ DOLAN SHOW FEATURES POTS BY EMMANUEL COOPER

Lancaster Arts are showing four new works by Jez Dolan alongside work by Emmanuel Cooper and other queer artists in Queering the Collection at the Peter Scott Gallery.

Lancaster Arts has recently acquired four new works by Manchester-based artist, Jez Dolan for a show at the Peter Scott Gallery. Using a variety of print-making techniques, the works ‘explore memories, history, and an inherited tradition of Queer creativity. For the exhibition, Jez Dolan’s work is shown alongside existing collection works which speak to the artist’s inspirations and collaborations, including works by Garth Gratrix, Keith Vaughan, Derek Jarman and Emmanuel Cooper.

Jez Dolan was keen to include pots by Emmanuel Cooper partly because he remembers Cooper’s ground breaking book ‘The Sexual Perspective' [Routledge: 1986 & 1994] being an important source for him when he was doing his Master’s degree.

The show continues at the Peter Scott Gallery until 18th May 2025. More details can be found at both the Lancaster Arts and the Jez Dolan websites.
